What about Bob? My formal name is Robert L. Rich, Jr., my family calls me Rob and the rest of my world simply calls me Bob. I grew up on a small farm on the Chesapeake Bay outside of Annapolis Maryland. Educationally, I have a BS degree in Agriculture from The University of Delaware as well as executive training from UNC, UVA, University of Chicago, Eckerd College and Purdue. Professionally, I have worked extensively in the agricultural industries including fertilizer, seed, crop protection, equipment, horticulture, sports turf and landscaping. I have held numerous positions with increasing responsibility in both privately held and publically traded corporations.
I work primarily with small/medium sized businesses and environmentally concerned organizations as the work is more hands on and ecologically relevant. Locally, I have spent a considerable amount of my time in volunteer service at church, on lacrosse fields and with Habitat for Humanity. I love to work with and in nature - I love plants, soil, weather and water so any time I spend in nature is time well spent. I am concerned, increasingly so, on how we view and value our most important natural resources - particularly soil and water. I'm also concerned about our planet's choices on world hunger and preservation of open spaces.
